One word that we could use to describe Four Corners National Monument…LINES. Now, don’t get us wrong, the monument is a very unique place that we would recommend to anyone. Where else can you stand in Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico, and Utah at one time? It’s an experience. However, we were not prepared for the lines we would have to wait in. And we’re really only talking about 2 lines: one waiting in the truck just to get into the monument and then the other line to stand in the actual four corners. We’re not talking Disney World lines here, but lines none the less.
You can see in the video below that we probably spent more time waiting in the truck then we actually spent at the monument. We’ll wait while you take a look…
Once we paid our $5 per person (6 years and under are FREE) to enter the monument, we were pleasantly surprised to see that they have RV parking. A must for us since we are towing our 30ft travel trailer behind us. There were more RVs than we could count, but we managed to find a spot.
Then, we enter the monument, only to find…another line. Now, if you want to stand in all four corners of Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico, and Utah, this line is necessary. Unless, you are the only person there! No line! Lucky!
Instead of immediately getting in line to stand in the four corners, we opted for a quick walk around to see what else they have. There are booths lining the outer edge of the monument with people selling four corners souvenirs. There were about 5 booths occupied while we were there. We didn’t count how many total booths there were, but at least 40. So, if you’re looking to sell some stuff, Four Corners has some booths available.
Now, back to that line. As you can see below, we bypassed the line to stand in the four corners because, well, we didn’t want to stand around for an hour. We cheated and took one from the side. All in all, I’d recommend this place if you’ve never been. It’s an experience. We probably should have waited in line to stand in the four corners because that’s basically the whole point. But…we didn’t. Will we go back to get that pic? Doubt it. However, you should go…at least once.
