I think we can all agree that road trips are the BEST! I love them. There is so much to see. What’s not the best about road trips is being in the car for hours on end. And, when you’re pulling a 30ft travel trailer behind you, you’re certainly not the fastest on the road and things move slow. We love planning roadside fun along the way to break up the long hours in the car. One of our favorite places to play is always a local science museum. They usually have lots of hands on things and our daughter is all about that.

We are a part of the ASTC Travel Passport Program. ASTC stands for Association of Science and Technology Centers. They support centers and museums as they engage their community. One of the ways they do that is the Travel Passport Program. If you are a member of your local center or museum and they participate in the travel passport program, then you can get in FREE at any other center or museum that is a part of the program.

We got so lucky in Albuquerque because they have 2 museums right next door to each other. They have a large parking lot, so parking with the travel trailer was no problem.

First, we went into EXPLORA. Lots of hands on activities which is always great for us. They had several things we had never seen or had a chance to do before so that was great. See our video up top for our favorite things.

Then we headed over to the New Mexico Museum of Natural History and Science. It was less hands on. I’d say it is a more well rounded museum for the whole family. Where EXPLORA is mostly just for kids. If you are into dinosaurs, the natural history museum is the place for you. Again, check out the video up top for our favorite things.

Albuquerque has so much to offer. What a great city! We hope to be back soon and explore more of what it has to offer.
