Some would say, Palo Duro Canyon State Park in Texas is the best in the state. Â It’s the second largest canyon in the country! Â Once you pass the entrance gate, you’re hit with an immediate, incredible view. Â Switchbacks take you down into the canyon and to all this park has to offer. Â We’ll focus on camping for now. Â
This park has a variety of camping options. Â They have water and electric sites, tent sites, equestrian sites, and backpacking sites. Â There is something for everyone. Â In the RV sites, they have 30/50 amp options, pull thru and back-sites, and a dump station. Â We stayed in the Juniper camp area and were so impressed with the sites. Â They were nicely paved, fairly level, and even had some privacy. Â You can make reservations 5 months in advance HERE. Â They also had the biggest spiders I’ve even seen in the my life. Â When you can see them from your vehicle as you’re driving in…they’re BIG! Â Besides the spiders, we would highly recommend camping in any area at Palo Duro. Â Hopefully, we will be back again soon to explore more of this park. Â It is a true beauty.
