Visit Albright Visitor Center

Full of history, the Albright Visitor Center should be your first stop when coming to the Mammoth Hot Springs area of Yellowstone National Park. Talk to a park ranger, get information about the area, grab a Jr Ranger book for kids, and walk around inside to view some important and interesting things about the area.

Boardwalks at Terraces

Make your way over to the boardwalks after you’ve left the visitor center. This area puts you upclose to the hydrothermal features that highlight the area.

There are many boardwalks to choose from. You can stay at eye level with these incredible features or make your way up to the top for a great view.

The Sites

Take a tour of Fort Yellowstone while you’re in the area. There is so much history there. You won’t be disappointed. There are also some shops and restaurants to grab some food or a souvenir. This area almost reminds me a little downtown site. It’s amazing!

Wildlife

Don’t be shocked when you pass an Elk having some lunch while you’re at Mammoth. This area seems to attract this animals. Make sure to keep your distance. Remember, they are wild animals.

Roosevelt Arch & Arch Park

You can’t go to Mammoth Hot Springs without heading up the road to the Roosevelt Arch. This iconic piece will have you in awe. Roosevelt said “for the benefit and enjoyment of the people” so you should listen to him and go enjoy it. Don’t forget to snag a photo under the arch. Watch for cars!

The Arch Park area is a great place for lunch or dinner. You can picnic or they have some great restaurant options. If you pick one facing the National Park, you’ll get dinner and a great view.

Another photo opportunity! Get a picture with the Yellowstone National Park sign and don’t forget to include the great background. If you love taking pictures with all the national park signs, I think this is the best one in Yellowstone.
